Multi-Day Kayak Rates and Equipment

We use exclusively fiberglass touring kayaks. We select fiberglass kayaks because they are very light weight, never warp, are fast and easy to paddle, and have superior tracking. Our Easy Rider fiberglass kayaks combine distinctive styling with performance, comfort and stability.

Our single kayaks are from the Easy Rider Eskimo series. Seventeen feet in length, they are a full 24 inches wide, offering surprising stability for a single kayak. Our Eskimos have bow and stern bulkheads and hatches. Sliding foot pedals control the excellent ruddering system. Cockpit is sized to ensure ease of entry and exit. Comfortable contoured seats and adjustable backrests. Deck tie-down straps and bungies. Bow and stern lines with toggle handles for carrying. Singles weigh about 52 pounds and have a load capacity of 340 lbs. Paddling vests by Extrasport; small deck dry bags by Cascade Designs; paddles by Aquabound; paddle floats by Mariner; and sprayskirts by Feathercraft. Pumps and sponges included.

Double Kayaks

We offer two styles of double kayaks, both of which are from the Easy Rider Beluga series.

Standard Beluga double kayak

Our Standard Belugas are just under 17 feet in length, weigh 68 pounds, have a load capacity of 600 pounds, and have built-in foam flotation in case of tipping.

Expedition Beluga double kayak

The Expedition Belugas are 18 feet, weigh 79 pounds, have a load capacity of 700 pounds, and come with bow and stern bulkheads. The longer Expedition Beluga allows for easier packing and extra carrying capacity for longer trips.

Both Belugas are the number one choice in Glacier Bay, first because they can be easily loaded onto and transported on the park kayak/camper drop off vessel. Second, their width of 32 inches allows huge load capacities. They frequently carry two kayakers and gear for 7 to 10 days. Belugas are well known for their cruising efficiency and excellent initial and final stability. Novice paddlers feel secure with its extreme stability; experienced paddlers appreciate its speed and maneuverability. The Beluga can be paddled solo to add extra packing capacity for group expeditions. Large cockpits for easy packing and entry. Comfortable contoured seats and adjustable backrests. Ruddering system with sliding foot pedals. Deck tie-down bungies. Bow and stern lines with toggle handles. Paddling vests by Extrasport; small deck dry bags by Cascade Designs; paddles by Aquabound; and sprayskirts by Feathercraft. Pumps and sponges included.

Rental Policy

Glacier Bay Sea Kayaks provides well-maintained and clean equipment for rent. We expect the renter to return equipment in clean and good condition. Replacement costs will be charged to the renter if the item has to be replaced because of loss or irreparable damage to the rented equipment. Repairs to the fiberglass kayaks will be charged at a rate of $30 per hour.

No refunds will be made for early returns. Please understand we are making a commitment that we will reserve a kayak for you for the entire length of your trip. During our short, busy summer season, we often need to redirect customers to available dates or turn away business in order to fulfill this commitment. If you do return a day or two early, you might consider keeping your kayak for a Bartlett Cove day paddle or Beardslees overnight.
